D-Wave share starts through: $ 400 million for quantum projects!

What's in the world of quantum computing? The D-Wave share caused a sensation with strong growth in the past few days. This upward trend is justified by a recently carried out capital procurement, which has earned the company around $ 400 million gross. This financial injection is to be used for takeovers and strategic projects, as CEO Dr. Alan Baratz emphasizes. D-Wave is currently the only commercial company in quantum computing that specifically realizes applications in production, which makes it an interesting player in this promising industry. The share has gained about 18 percent in value since the end of June, and in pre-exchangeable trade in the USA it can record an increase of two percent reports that ... .

But D-Wave is not alone. Rigetti's share also experienced an increase of 15 percent, while Ionq is also moving around the profits in the double -digit range. The Quantum Computing Index, which, in addition to D-Wave, Rigetti and Ionq, also includes big names such as Nvidia and IBM, benefits from this general catch-up of quantum shares.

a record high for D-Wave

In an exciting development, the D-Wave Quantum share has been able to increase a total of impressive 1,300 percent since November 2022 and achieved a new all-time high. The course is currently 260 percent above the 200-day average. With a relative strength index (RSI) of 69.8, the share shows signs of light overheating, but there is no clear indication of an overbought state. The upward trend seems both at short notice and long-term intact

Another important point: Today starts on the London stock exchange of the Vaneck Quantum Computing Ucits ETF (QNTM), which has already been listed in Frankfurt. D-WAVE is represented in this index as a so-called "Pure Play" provider, which increases visibility enormously with institutional investors. In addition, the company has already sold a quantum computer to a customer, which is considered a significant step for commercial use.

The market for quantum technologies

According to the Quantum Technology Monitor 2025 from McKinsey, 2025 is viewed as a turning point for quantum technologies. The growth market for quantum computing, communication and sensors could reach a volume of up to $ 97 billion by 2035. In 2024, investments in quantum start-ups rose by about 50 percent to almost $ 2 billion. Around 70 percent of the funds flow into more mature companies and early phase start-ups

These technologies will have an enormous influence, especially in industries such as chemistry, life sciences, finance and mobility. The public sector has started to increase the funds for quantum technologies significantly: these rose from 15 percent to 34 percent. Japan is investing around $ 7.4 billion in quantum technologies this year, while Germany is planning funding commitments of over $ 5.2 billion to work on a universal quantum computer.

The innovative strength is especially in Europe, where the continent records eight out of 19 new foundations in the field of quantum technologies. Asian countries, especially Japan and China, also invest massively in this area. In 2024, quantum computing companies generated between $ 650 and $ 750 million, and demand is expected to explode, with the quantum communication market from $ 1.2 billion increasing to up to $ 15 billion. Germany is considered a leader in quantum communication and is also one of the top countries in the registration of quantum technology patents.

The future looks promising for the quantum industry. Companies and authorities face the challenge of investing in quantity -proof procedures, since the development of quantum algorithms could endanger existing encryption methods. The urgent need for action in this area becomes clear through technologies such as post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution (QKD). Ultimately, it turns out that the quantum industry is in full swing and could play a key role in digitization in the coming years.
