ABB presents three new robot families: China's future of automation!

Shanghai, China - What is happening in robotics? An exciting chapter is opened because Fig, a pioneer of automation technology, has expanded its portfolio by three new robot families: Lite+, IRB 1200 and POWA. These innovations are produced in the Mega factory of ABB Robotics in Shanghai and are aimed at various areas of application-from simple material handling to complex applications such as dosing and polishing. ABB thus ensures that the robotics are not only more efficient, but also for high -growing sectors such as electronics, consumer goods and the completing industry. According to the latest figures from ABB, the market for robots in China is growing at a rapid pace - with an average annual growth rate of 24% between 2021 and 2024. Another annual growth of around 8% is expected until 2028, and China remains the largest robot market in the world, responsible for more than half of all global robot installations.

The new robot families Lite+, IRB 1200 and Powa have their own strengths. The compact Lite+ is specially designed for basic material handling and pick-and-place applications and is characterized by its user-friendliness. In contrast, Powa, a collaborative robot, shines at intensive speeds of up to 5.8 m/s, which optimizes it for productive environments. The IRB 1200 of the new generation is lighter and more compact than its predecessor and offers high -precision applications - perfect for the requirements of modern production. All robots mentioned are based on the innovative Omnicore ™ control platform, which enables the integration of KI, sensor, cloud and edge computing systems.

innovative technology is progressing progress

Whoever thinks would be all, is wrong! Apart from the new robots, ABB with Omnicore also launches a solution for voice -controlled robot programming. This intelligent automation platform makes the learning process of the robot considerably easier and thus lowers the hurdles for companies that want to use automation in their processes. Fig combines powerful hardware with flexible software at omnicore and enables several robots to be managed efficiently. It is not just the technological progress that counts here. Automation is a strategic necessity for ABB customers due to global megatrends such as a shortage of labor and imponderables in the supply chains. In Europe, 75 percent of companies even have difficulty finding qualified specialists.

All of these developments are no coincidence. China has developed into a true world power in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in recent years. With a robot density that Germany has long since overtaken and a market share of over 50% in industrial robots, the country impressively shows how quickly it has new technologies under control. Chinese companies bring new products onto the market in record -breaking periods and set standards in the industry with their innovative strength. Another plus for China is the above-average number of graduates in natural sciences and technology-about 3.5 times as many as in the EU. This talent pool continues to drive the development of robots and AI systems.

The future of robotics in China

The challenges with which China is faced with must not be overlooked. Skepticism in terms of reliability, local standards and data security are topics that the Chinese robotics industry has to introduce into the global market. These aspects are particularly important in Europe. Germany as one of the leading countries in technology has to struggle with some location disadvantages of approximately 30% against China in the automotive industry. In order to enable strategic autonomy and a stronger networking between business, science and politics, measures such as deregulation and a more powerful investor ecosystem are necessary.

In summary, it can be said that a new era of robotics is heralded with the new ABB and developments in China. Companies worldwide can benefit from these progress and should actively use the opportunities that result from this dynamic original market change. The robotic is on the right track - and Fig is at the forefront!
