Malaysia's officials receive cybersecurity and AI training in China!

The digital turn is in full swing and many countries are working to strengthen their authorities for the challenges of the future. In Malaysia, a new program is launched that aims to convey high -ranking government officials the necessary skills in the areas of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI). As reported [ZTE] (https://www.tt.com.cn/tztent/www-tzt-com-cn/about/news/zt-and-mmu-launch-a-ai-ai- and-cybersecurity-in-china.html) (MMU) intensively trained for five months. The initiative is fully financed by the Public Service Department (JPA), which shows how serious the government is with digital transformation.

The program is divided into two phases. The first phase includes a one -month, intensive preparatory training at the MMU, in which the participating basics for cybersecurity and innovative applications of AI learn in the public service. The focus here is on practical laboratory units and realistic simulations that are intended to put the theoretical knowledge into practice. The President of the MMU, Prof. Dato 'Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, emphasizes the importance of international experiences that participants can collect in phase two in industrial connections in China.

digital skills in the public sector

In a project running in parallel, Mydigital Corporation and Microsoft carried out a training program for civil servants that also aims for digital skills. A total of 80 participants from 12 public institutions were trained within four weeks. The training included modern topics such as cloud technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity. The crowning glory formed an ideaathone in which the participants were able to bring their learned skills into innovative projects.

the officials also address a good hand in an international context, then participating in such programs apparently has great advantages. The results speak for themselves: the participants showed significant progress in their digital skills, with an increase in the total number of 15% to astonishing 77%. So you can say that such initiatives manage to put Malaysia on the digital radar.

prepared for the future

The changes that are initiated by the digital transformation in administration are large. According to a study by the Fraunhofer iao, many municipalities and regional associations show great interest in the possibilities that artificial intelligence offers. The study based on workshops with ten municipalities provides useful insights into the relevance of digitization and formulates concrete recommendations for action.

The “Future Scenarios” include the administrations, a possible development towards a AI-based surveillance state and the positive combination of human and artificial intelligence. Here it becomes clear that the digital transformation not only has a technical but also a social dimension that must be discussed intensively among those involved.

Overall, it turns out that Malaysia takes an important step towards a digitally qualified public administration. Partnerships and training institutes laid the foundation for a successful digital future, which not only makes the administration more efficient, but also benefits the citizens: inside. The commitment that both ZTE as well as mydigital and Microsoft could soon also go to school in other countries!
