Thailand on the way to AI future: progress and challenges!
Bangkok, Thailand - Thailand shows great potential in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The country recently carried out a comprehensive national evaluation of the willingness for AI, which was founded together with UNESCO and local institutions. Five dimensions of competence were considered: legally, social, scientific, economical and technically. This assessment brings to light both progress and challenges in the field of AI development. Thailand Business News reports that despite a national AI strategy, specific laws and risk-based regulatory mechanisms are missing, which inhibits innovation.
Another sticking point is the talented shortage of skilled workers: around 80,000 AI professionals are missing in order to exploit the full potential of technology. Particularly disadvantaged groups such as rural communities, minorities and older people also fight with digital access hurdles. Even if over 28,000 government data records are open to the public, their quality and reusability are still expandable. Therefore, the authors of the assessment call for an urgently needed development of ethical supervisory systems as well as an improved infrastructure for AI tests and cross-sector coordination. With the right willingness and investments, Thailand could pass from strategic planning to tapping AI development step.
international cooperation on the Ki-Front
The forum follows the UNESCO recommendation on the ethics of the AI from 2021 and deals with central topics such as human rights, equality of gender and sustainability. These discussions are not only important for Thailand, but for all countries that act in an increasingly digital world. The majority of AI development takes place in a few industrialized and emerging countries, which means that poorer states run the risk of being left behind by this development. UNESCO makes it clear that ethical questions about Ki cannot be solved at the national level because they have far -reaching social consequences.
The way to a just future
The UNESCO recommendation on the ethics of artificial intelligence emphasizes that AI systems have to respect and promote human rights, no matter where they are used. This message is particularly important to overcome the digital trenches between development and industrialized countries. International cooperation must be expanded to ensure the participation of people from countries with low and medium -sized incomes. At this point, the situation in African countries that are the focus of the UNESCO work should be taken into account.
In summary, it can be said that Thailand is on the right track but still has many challenges. With the right strategy and cooperation, the country can not only benefit from the progress in the AI sector, but also contribute to global discussion about ethical standards and humanity in technology.Details | |
