Future with AI: Girls conquer the tech world at the AI event!
The second edition of the annual event "Ai Educational Revolution" took place on July 9, 2025 in hybrid format, organized by UCL Computer Science, Girls School Association and the Guernsey Ladies ’College. The aim of the event was to inspire secondary students and to bring them closer to the possibilities of artificial intelligence (AI) and the MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). In exciting lectures, experts explained the role of AI in the future professional world. Jo Miller from the UK Civil Service spoke about the importance of StEM and AI in global geopolitics and emphasized how important it is that women and girls actively participate in the design of the AI zeitgeist.
Daniele Harford-Fox from Guernsey Ladies ’College pointed out that AI revolutionizes the educational landscape and professions like medicine. However, certain activities, such as care, continue to rely on human expertise. Prof. Marianna Obrist from the UCL Computer Science presented innovative research results that aim to integrate more humanity into technology. This also leads us to the challenges that are often discussed in other educational contexts.
