Tech Week 2025: Vanadzor becomes the center of technology innovation!
Vanadzor, Armenien - The Tech Week 2025 took place from July 4th to 6th in Vanadzor, Armenia, and was a big event for the technology community. Over 2,800 participants flocked to the city to take part in this exciting event, which was supported by Team Telecom Armenia as a technological partner. The conference was organized by the Technology Community Forum, Zealous and the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (Uate), all of which have set themselves the goal of strengthening the tech scene in the regions and promoting decentralization. A step in the right direction, so to speak - away from the concentration in the capital Jerewan.
the main event was the Charles Aznavour Kulturpalast, where more than 60 speakers, including company founders, tech entrepreneurs and investors, also performed. In conferences and panel discussions, the participants received valuable insights and made new contacts. Sargis Karapetyan, Managing Director of Uate, emphasized how important such events are for communication and cooperation to further advance the tech scene.
hackathon and innovation competition
A special highlight of the Tech Week was the Devhacks hackathon in the Vanadzor Technology Center. 68 of a total of 95 teams submitted were able to qualify for the challenge and had 48 hours to develop their prototypes. This not only promotes creative exchange, but also brings fresh ideas to the tech community. The “Wings” innovation competition also took place, which brings teams from various sectors such as technology, agricultural economy and tourism to promote socio-economic projects for the Lori region.
A total of over 300 participants have already registered with practical workshops that took place during the event. These workshops offer an excellent platform for knowledge transfer and help to develop new skills and ideas.
A look into the future
The next Tech Week has already been announced on Goris, which indicates that interest in technological progress continues to grow in Armenia. Team Telecom Armenia remains a driving force in the country's telecommunications and IT industry, and for over 100 years. In addition to this event, Armenia also takes a look at the big event in October: the congress on innovation and technology (WCIT) will take place again in Jerevan. This is organized in partnership with Digitech Armenia, one of the largest annual events for innovation and technology in the region. There is the topic "The spirit of innovation and the use of artificial intelligence in an ethical framework" on the agenda. The anticipation is already great, because significant personalities from the industry are expected to share their knowledge and experiences. The future of technology in Armenia looks promising, and events such as the Tech Week 2025 and the WCIT 2024 show that the country is establishing itself as a new center for technological developments.
