Block party in Halle-Neustadt: When swans learn to fly digitally!

Next Friday, July 11th, Meisdorfer Straße in Halle-Neustadt is transformed into a pulsating center for digital creativity and joint experience. The Blockparty offers a free entry experience from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., which takes place as part of the model project Smart City Halle (Saale). It gets bizarre and a little crazy at the central theme of the event: an impressive mural entitled "Flight of the Swans", created by Danilo Halle and Hanna Müller-Kaempfer, a tribute to the work of art by Heinz Möhrdel from 1984.

For visitors: Inside there is an exciting mix of interactive, digital educational offers and the flair of a street festival. Thanks to Augmented Reality, guests can look forward to bringing swans to life on their smartphones. If you always wanted to make your own swan model, you have the chance to do this on site in 3D printing. In addition, Martin Maleschka, an architect and expert for GDR art on construction, will offer guided tours that are certainly also informative and entertaining.

creativity and sustainability combined

The block party will not only be a festival of art and technology, but also a place for creative activities. Under the motto "Mobile Makerspace", large and small discoverers can make analogous and digital explorations. In the meantime, there is a plant exchange that will address environmentally conscious gardeners. The little ones can look forward to circus games and chalk art, while the musical acts-including the Perky Pollyvocs from Dresden Vanduschka - create the right mood. A swing dance workshop rounds off the program and invites all dance enthusiasts to show her skills.

In the context of current developments in Halle, the block party is part of a larger project that operates under the term "Smart City". Halle.de explains that this approach stands for the intelligent, networked city that strives for sustainable urban development through digital technologies. The planned building blocks for this include the intelligent planning of local public transport and the expansion of digital skills.

The role of digital twins

A future -oriented tool in urban planning is the digital twin. As explained whereenext.esri.de , digital twins enable early consideration of designs and their effects on the environment. This technology supports sustainable planning processes by allowing cities to carry out precise calculations on living space, energy requirements and more. In this way, developments are not only more effective, but also more environmentally friendly.

An example of such innovative planning is the planned commercial area on the site of the General-von Seidel barracks in Trier. Even drones can work here to balance the demolition material and thus ensure environmentally friendly use. This transparency and the possibility of working in the planning processes are essential to master the challenges of urban development.

The block party in Halle-Neustadt is therefore not only a festival, but also a platform that shows how art, technology and urban development can come together to make a more livable future.
